THE SECRET OF THE GRAPES
We are the Marichal Family, we have been making wine for more than 80 years, and producing grapes for more than 100. We export our wines to the most demanding markets, without pretending too much, and always believing that the magic relies in simplicity, and that the effort is the source of success.
We make wine with grapes from our own vineyards, next to the winery, in Etchevarría, Canelones, only 25 km from Rio de la Plata.
Hand-harvesting, we take care of the purity of the grape, and we enjoy when we reach our goals in the vineyard.
Every harvest is unique, giving us the opportunity to start again, keep learning and understanding what the grapes are trying to tell us.

Top 100
Wine Spectator
Wine Spectator published the “Top 100” list, and our Tannat Marichal 2018 was chosen among the top 100 wines of the year out of 15,000 wines evaluated from more than 60 wine regions around the world. With 90 points, it ranked #61 in the Top 100 Wine Spectator 2020, being one of the 7 South American wines and the only Uruguayan wine to make the list.
Kim Marcus, Senior Editor of WS from New York, describes it as follows: “Fresh red currant and raspberry notes are backed by crisp acidity in this juicy-style wine. The midpalate shows mineral and white pepper accents with a finish of freshly
crushed spices.”
